EXAMINATION POLICY

A) EXAMINATION POLICY GRADE I & II

A regular assessment of students’ work is considered crucial in the process of education. For this purpose, regular assessment of learning and reviews are conducted. Progress is discussed with both parents and students. As per the Central Board of Secondary Education, the Assessment is broadly divided into Scholastic and Co - Scholastic areas.

  • Four Cycle Tests will be conducted every term out of 20 marks. There will be 80% weightage for cycle tests in each term.
  • Notebook assessment will be conducted twice a term out of 50 marks. There will be 5% weightage for Notebook Assessment in each term. Notebooks will be assessed based on handwriting, regularity, neatness, assignment completion, and upkeep of notebooks.
  • Activity assessments will be conducted every term as per the CBSE guidelines. The assessment weightage will be 15%.

B) EXAMINATION POLICY GRADE III TO V

  • Periodic Tests 1 & 2 will be conducted term wise. There will be 30% weightage for the Periodic Assessment in each term.
  • Half Yearly Examination and Annual Examination will be conducted with a weightage of 50% term wise.
  • Notebook assessment will be conducted twice a term out of 50 marks. There will be 5% weightage for Notebook Assessment in each term. Notebooks will be assessed based on handwriting, regularity, neatness, assignment completion, and upkeep of notebooks.
  • Activity assessments will be conducted every term as per the CBSE guidelines. The assessment weightage will be 15%.

GRADING SCALE FOR GRADES XI & XII

  • For the five scholastic subjects, assessment will be done in two parts – Annual/Board examination and Internal Assessment.
  • Annual / Board Examination - Students have to secure 33% marks out of 80 marks in each subject. Marks and grades will be awarded for individual subjects. A 9-point grading system is followed.
  • Internal assessment: Students have to secure 33% marks in each subject.
  • There will be 3 periodic tests, Pre-Board/Annual examination in an academic year. All the tests are equally important for final marks submission. Provisional admission to Grade XI will be based on the Pre-Board exam marks, academic Performance of the whole Academic Year and general discipline is taken into consideraon for promotion.
  • Notebook submission: This will cover regularity, assignment completion, neatness and upkeep of the notebook.
  • Acvies: This will cover speaking and listening skills in languages, practical lab work in Science, Math lab work and project work in Social Science.
  • No upscaling will be done in scholasc areas on the basis of grades obtained in co-scholasc area.
  • It is mandatory to pass separately in Board/Annual examination and Internal Assessment as per CBSE guidelines.
  • Pass percentage in each subject will be 33% in theory as well as in practical separately.
  • Students scoring less than 33% marks in 1 subject will not be promoted irrespecve of the aggregate.
  • Students having less than 75% attendance may be barred from taking Annual Exams.
  • Retest will be provided to the students if they fail in a single subject. Failure in more than one subject will be considered as detained.
  • No retest or re-exam will be conducted for students who are absent during the exam.
  • If a student is found using unfair means in the exams, no marks will be awarded to him/her and will be debarred from the exam. Disciplinary acon will be taken as per school policy. If he/she repeats the same, the student will be expelled from school.

GRADING SCALE FOR GRADES I TO X

  • Grades XI and XII will adhere to the examination policy based on CBSE guidelines.
  • There will be Periodic Assessment, Half Yearly, Pre-Board and Final examination.
  • All the tests/exams are mandatory.
  • Students having less than 75%attendancemay be barred from taking the Annual Exam/CBSE Exam.
  • No retest or re-exam will be conducted for students who are absent during the exam.
  • Pass percentage in each subject will be 33% in theory as well as in practical separately.
  • Internal Assessments: practical, record books, ASL, invesgatory project are to be completed on me.
  • If a student is found using unfair means in the exams, no marks will be awarded to him/her and will be debarred from the exam. Disciplinary acon will be taken as per school policy. If he/she repeats the same, the student will be expelled from school.
  • Retest will be provided to the students if they fail in a single subject. Failure in more than one subject will be considered as detained.

PROMOTION POLICY FOR GRADES IX & X

  • Grade IX and X examinations are conducted in the form of periodic assessments, Pre-boards (for Grade X) and Annual exams.
  • In examinations, a student needs to secure a minimum 33% in both theory and practical separately for promoon to the next grade.
  • It is mandatory to attend all the examinations.
  • Student with a minimum of 75% attendance during each scholastic year will only be considered for promoon.
  • The students of grade IX and X must get the qualifying cerficate issued by the CBSE to be eligible for admission to grade XI.
  • Admission to grade XI is solely on the basis of merit or as instructed by the CBSE and norms followed by the school.

PROMOTION POLICY FOR GRADES XI & XII

  • Grade XI examinations are conducted by the school according to the guidelines prescribed by the CBSE.
  • The qualifying marks in each subject should be 33% .
  • Subjects involving theory and practical work, a student must obtain 33% marks in theory and 33% marks in practical separately in addition to 33% marks in aggregate in order to qualify in that subject and get promoted.
  • It is mandatory to attend all the examinations.
  • Student with a minimum of 75% attendance during each scholastic year will only be considered for promoon.
  • Annual examination for grade XI is conducted in the month of February.
